Final Editing

In this stage we focused on fine tuning our opening sequence. Originally we had published our film onto you tube but it was here when we discovered some very slight errors that occurred during editing. With this information we took the video of you tube and then went back to the editing to make the final adjustments. We also decided to revert to only having one piece of music at the end as we felt this gave the opening sequence a better flow and ending.

Company Logo for opening title sequence

This was the first logo in which we created. We felt that this logo was not up to the standard in which we need for our film opening.
We redesigned the logo and made it much more simplistic. We thought that having a black logo upon a white background would stand out better. We decided to remove the stars as we thought it made it to american. We decided to make the productions part of the logo smaller and the name of the company larger as this is what we wanted to advertise.
Before adding our logo onto the start of the film we used adobe Flash. By using this software we were able to create a bouncing effect with the logo and animate it to the timing of a spring bounce sound effect found on iMovie. We then added this onto the start of the clip along with the sound effect.
Here is an image of us adding the opening title sequence to the current footage on iMovie

Editing part 3

In this stage of editing involved adding music effects to the clips as well as transitions. We started with transitions between the different scenes. We tried full pre made transitions that are on iMovie such as the comic book transitions effect however we decided against this as we felt that it looked amateurish at best and irrelevant to the theme. After experimenting with different transitions we decided upon a simple transition effect. Next we looked at adding sound effects to the first scene (press conference). We added various camera shutters sound effects to simulate a real press conference in which reporters are taking real photos. We also added a boing sound and an applause to provide a crowd reaction for a realism effect. The next scene we added  text to resemble a news report so this featured things like the name of the news corporation and location. We did this for the realism effect to make it appear that it is a real news report. We also tried something similar with the next scene for the same reason.

Changing the title sequence

After analysing the title sequence I made the decision to change the music on the slow motion section of the title sequence. I changed it to another piece of music of which was also on the imovie set playlist. I changed it to the piano Ballad as this better matched the scene at that times and made the next part stand out more.

Creating the title sequence

We put the print screen image on to adobe fireworks software in which we chose one of the fonts available and moved it into location. We added each letter after we saved the image without the new letter. We then added these images to imovie. We added each one as a new part and made each ones duration 0.2 seconds. This created the effect that a typewriter was writing the text onto the block. We added a typewriter sound effect on top of the title sequence and luckily enough it matched the pace in which the text was being written on the block. The final block where all the text has been written was longer. During this sequence we added some music which turned out to be Dolce Vita which was on the imovie sound effects.

Editing Part 2

In this next stage of editing we decided to focus our attention on the final section of the opening sequence of which is the films title. The clip is of the falling Jenga tower in which we made the decision to put it in a slow motion effect as we felt this would give a better overall results and impact on the audience. We cut down the tower falling scene to exactly the point one of the blocks covers most of the screen as we intended to put the films title upon this block.
At first we attempted to use the title affects that were present on imovie however after trying various different forms of fonts, colours and effects however we felt that none of these were up to standard so we decided to place each letter onto the wooden block individually  to create an effect that a typewriter is writing them. Unfortunately imovie dose not allow this so we had to take a print screen of the clip and copy the image onto a seperate software.

Editing footage part 1

Once we finished filming our scenes we had to upload the footage onto an apple mac in order to use the imovie computer software. Once we uploaded all the footage we had to select the best footage from each scene. In some cases in order to have the best possible footage we had to it edit to different takes together. This was difficult as each different takes was slightly different so it involved very careful editing. We had to make sure that each section matched up to eliminate any continuity that may occur. Once all the footage that we wanted was on the time came close to 2 minutes 30 seconds which is too long so we had to cut some sections of scenes down in order to come closer to the 2 minute mark which our brief states.

Message from filming

This is a message that we filmed after we had finished filming.
